Tottenham team news update: Mourinho without 4 players for Man Utd trip
Jose Mourinho will have to make do without four players when Tottenham take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
Jose Mourinho returns to Old Trafford as Manchester United take on Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.
Ahead of the game, Spurs have issued a team news and injury update on TottenhamHotspur.com with the latest on the fitness of Ben Davies, Erik Lamela, Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm.
Unfortunately Tottenham have confirmed Davies will remain on the sidelines as he continues to recover from an ankle injury that he sustained during the 3-2 victory over West Ham in Mourinho’s first game in charge.
Davies has already missed Tottenham’s Champions League win over Olympiacos and Saturday’s 3-2 victory over Bournemouth at White Hart Lane and the left-back will now sit out the trip to Man Utd tomorrow night.
Lamela hasn’t featured for Spurs since their win over Red Star in the Champions League in late October as he’s been forced to miss the last seven matches in all competitions due to a hamstring injury. The Argentinean international is still undergoing his recovery programme so will also miss the game at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.
Lloris isn’t expected to be available again until 2020 as he continues to overcome an horrific dislocated elbow that he sustained during the defeat to Brighton on the 5th October while fellow goalkeeper Vorm is also still out with a calf problem.
It means Mourinho will be without four players when he takes his Tottenham team to face former side Manchester United tomorrow and the Portuguese coach will be looking to make it four consecutive victories in a row.
