Tottenham have been given a huge boost ahead of their Champions League opener against Werder Bremen with the news that Luka Modric has been given the all clear.
The Croatian was forced off during Spurs’ 1-1 draw with West Brom on Saturday and left the stadium on crutches. Initial fears were that he had suffered a broken leg, however X-ray results have come back clear and he is due to fly-out to Germany with the rest of the Tottenham squad today.
A statement on the clubs official website said:
“Luka Modric will travel with the squad for our opening Champions League group match at Werder Bremen on Tuesday after X-rays of his left fibula came back clear.
“The Croatia international midfielder was forced off with the injury in the first half of yesterday’s draw at West Brom and will continue to be monitored prior to being made available for selection on Tuesday.”
