Manchester United slumped to their fourth home defeat of the season with Tottenham Hotspur running out 2-1 winners at Old Trafford this afternoon.
Emmanuel Adebayor opened the scoring when he headed home Christian Eriksen’s cross in the 34th minute. Eriksen then made it 2-0 with a header of his own midway through the second half before Danny Welbeck cut the deficit within a minute with a fine finish.
United pushed for the equaliser but Spurs held out to move up to sixth in the table – just two points off fourth-placed Liverpool.
