Brendan Rodgers is expected to rest some of his key men for the game with Luis Suarez, Jordan Henderson and Philippe Coutinho among those who are likely to get a breather.
Glen Johnson limped off against Hull on Wednesday with a knock so is expected to miss out with Martin Kelly coming in at right back. Kolo Toure is also pushing for a recall while Aly Cissokho should continue at left-back in the absence of Jose Enrique and Jon Flanagan – who are both injured.
Steven Gerrard made a successful return from injury on New Year’s Day so could skipper the side while midfielder Joe Allen is out injured. Victor Moses should get a run out while Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas could also make rare starts in attack with Daniel Sturridge still on the sidelines.
